A ceremony was held in Kyiv to award the best doctors of Ukraine with the “Medical Oscar” for selfless service to the Ukrainian people, courage and resilience in the fight for the health of Ukrainians, for the freedom and independence of Ukraine in the war against the Russian aggressor. Yevhen Smyanov, associate professor of the department of public health of Sumy State University, candidate of medical sciences, was awarded the national award for professionalism and charity “Order of Saint Panteleimon” and “Medal of Saint Panteleimon”.
The Order of Saint Panteleimon is the highest award in medicine. Representatives of the Medical Service of the Armed Forces, the Ministry of Health, and the National Academy of Medical Sciences took part in the official part of the event. This year, the best 47 civilian and military medical workers from all regions of Ukraine received awards.
In the Sumy region, Yevhen Smyanov (military medic) was awarded – a senior sergeant of the medical service of the HUR unit of the Kraken Ministry of Defense, a senior doctor of the evacuation brigade. After the full-scale invasion, Evgeny Vladyslavovich became a military medic and helps wounded soldiers.
