We are inviting you to visit our film club, which takes place at the Department of Public Health

We are warmly inviting you to visit our film club, which takes place at the Department of Public Health, under the patronage of the Documentary Film Festival within the framework of the International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival (Travelling Docudays UA) and the partners of the NGO “Bioethics”, NGO the Public Chamber of Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine, the film club of human rights media education “Potential”.

During this semester we are going to watch the following films:

 “Citizen Bio” (online). Trish Dolman is one of Canada’s leading filmmakers, known for her political films and TV shows that “change the discourse”. The film raises issues of bioethics, biohacking and radical medicine.

 “My Other Son” (online) is about the way from surprise and denial to unlimited love and perception of a newborn son who is diagnosed with Down syndrome – https://travelling.docudays.ua/…/linole…/mii-inshyi-syn/.

 Online watching of the movie “Unseen”: https://travelling.docudays.ua/event/2037/. The film tells the stories of women who reveal the subject of birth trauma, which is ambiguous and mainly denied by society.

 “Burning out” is about employees of the surgical department in one of the biggest hospitals in Paris. They are stressed all the time, they lack hands, and are cut in budget funding. Employees and managers are fighting each other for resources. Is there a possibility of dialogue in this situation?

The main purpose our online film club is to support the educational spirit during quarantine restrictions, to discuss the problems that are raised by filmmakers on health, public life, and to search for solutions. We learn to express opinions, listen to the other side, and watch changes happen.
