Participation in the Gastro Time master class: «Check-list for probiotics: what doctors need to remember»

On August 27, a Gastro Time master class was held: “Check-list for probiotics: what doctors need to remember,” in which Associate Professor of Public Health Tetyana IVAKHNІUK took part.

The event covered key aspects of a rational approach to prescribing probiotics. Participants worked through checklists and clinical algorithms that help doctors make informed decisions in their daily practice. Particular attention was paid to practical protocols for the use of probiotics in antibiotic-associated diarrhea, acute gastroenteritis, food allergies, and necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC). The principles of a balanced choice of probiotic agents were discussed — without marketing distortions, based exclusively on evidence-based medicine. Thanks to clinical cases, participants had the opportunity to consolidate their knowledge and discuss complex situations with colleagues. The knowledge gained will be actively used in teaching specialized disciplines to students of the department.
