Participation in the international online-webinar “Scientific Editing and Communication”

On October 19, 2021, an international online-webinar “Scientific Editing and Communication” was held, organized by Sumy State University and the NGO “Council of Scientific Editors of Ukraine”. Professor of the Department of Public Health, OM Berhilevich took part in the webinar. The speaker was Armen Gasparyan, MD, PhD, FESC, a scientist and lecturer at the University of Birmingham Training Centre, Dudley, UK, an active peer-reviewer of journal applications for Scopus database, member of the World Association of Medical Editors, past member of the Council of the European Association of Scientific Editors and editor-in-chief in the journal “European Science Editing.” He is known as the author of many articles on scientific editing and scientific-communicative skills, who held more than 20 seminars in Kazakhstan, Iran, Turkey, Spain, England and Ukraine.

The format of the event included 4 lectures:

  1. Basic principles of scientific authorship,
  2. How to use bibliographic databases for scientific research,
  3. How to draw up scientific articles in accordance with international standards,
  4. The role of social networks in scientific promotion of publications.

Between lectures in interactive “question-answer” sessions, webinar participants had the opportunity to ask questions to the speaker and hear opinion on the problems they were interested in.

The lecture materials and information provided by the speaker were quite interesting and relevant for the audience, thus, it served as a stimule for active discussions.
