On December 15-16, 2023, as part of the continuous professional development of doctors, the seminar “Infections associated with the provision of medical care” was held, the provider of the event was Sumy State University (Department of Public Health). Participants received 20 points for participating in the seminar. The seminar’s speaker was Viktoriia Holubnycha, the Department of Public Health associate professor.
As part of the seminar, the specifics of healthcare-associated infections, measures to prevent infection during contact with patients, the procedure for infection prevention, and infection control in healthcare facilities that provide medical care in hospital conditions were discussed. In addition, the issues of antibiotic resistance and indicators of the effectiveness of the administration of antimicrobial drugs were considered.
Interesting and relevant reports and presentations were supplemented by two master classes: “Rules of a Fit test when choosing a respirator” (guest-head of the laboratory of the Sumy Regional TB Dispensary Verbytska L.I.) and “Rules for the use of PPE in patient care can perform barrier and filtering functions”.
The event was held as part of the implementation of the grant project financed within the framework of the EU Erasmus+ program Jean Monnet (Module/Department) “European rules of bioprotection and biosafety taking into account global challenges” № 101048202.
