On January 31, 2024, the third (regional) stage of the All-Ukrainian Pupil Olympiad in Biology took place in a remote format. The jury included Tetiana Ivakhnyuk, associate professor of the Department of Public Health of the Academic and Research Medical Institute of SumDU. The Biology Olympiad traditionally consisted of 2 rounds: theoretical and experimental.
The theoretical tour included test tasks of various levels of difficulty. Solving Olympiad tasks (tests) required knowledge of the biological content of the relevant section of biology and the ability to apply them in specific conditions. During the experimental tour, the students had the opportunity to analyze the peculiarities of the structure and vital activity of representatives of various types of living organisms; to investigate the peculiarities of the inheritance of traits based on the results of the above experiments, etc. 28 schoolchildren from the territorial community of Sumy region took part in intellectual competitions in biology.
